Johannes Trithemius (Trittenheim 1462 - Würzburg 1516) è stato un abate benedettino, astrologo, poligrafo e filosofo. Conosceva le lingue orientali come l'ebraico, il caldeo. Scrisse trattati di storia, demonologia, magia, filosofia naturale e si occupò della comunicazione attraverso i segni simbolici, magici ed esoterici. Johannes Trithemius (Trittenheim 1462 - Würzburg 1516) was a Benedictine abbot, astrologer, philosopher and polygraph. He knew the Oriental languages such as Hebrew and Chaldean. He wrote treatises on history, demonology, magic, and natural philosophy, and his studies concerned the communication through magic, esoteric and symbolic signs. His writings include "Chronicon ducum Bavariae", "Catalogus scriptorum ecclesiasticorum", "Antipalus maleficiarum", "Steganographia", "Polygraphiae libri VI".
