René Guénon (Blois 1886 - Cairo 1951) was a philosopher, intellectual and university professor in France and in Algeria. He founded the journal "La Gnose". He wrote several articles and treatises on Western philosophy, Eastern thought, Freemasonry and symbolism. Among his most important publications, we can only mention "Les symboles sacree de la science", "L'ésotérisme de Dante", "Orient et Occident", "Saint Bernard".
