Itineraries of Philosophy and Science from Baghdad to Florence: Albert the Great, his Sources and his Legacies,

The conference Itineraries of Philosophy and Science from Baghdad to Florence: Albert the Great, his Sources and his Legacies, is promoted by the members of the PRIN 2022 project ( Paola Bernardini, Alessandra Beccarisi, Alessandro Palazzo, Stefano Perfetti, Anna Rodolfi, Antonella Sannino) under the scientific direction of Amos Bertolacci (PI) and dedicated to the same theme.
The event aims to take stock of current research on Albertus Magnus, whose intellectual legacy has left a lasting impact on medieval philosophy and beyond.
Over the coming days, we will delve into key topics that define the distinctive character of this great Scholastic thinker. The sessions will explore his engagement with Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew sources, his political and metaphysical thought, his contributions to natural philosophy, and the broader reception of his work—from the Cologne School to the Renaissance.
